Sonja Elizabeth “Sonni” Kerr (Randall)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sonja

“Sonni” Kerr, who passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at the age of 86. Sonni was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Great-grandmother and friend.

Born in 1938, in New Hyde Park, NY, Sonni was the daughter of Malcolm and Sylvia Randall. In her younger years she was a model and then later on worked at Sperry’s where she met her husband Jack. Sonni married John (Jack) Kerr in August, 1960 and together they moved to Smithtown,NY and raised their family.

After they raised their kids they retired to New Port Richey, FL and called it their home for 30 years.

Sonni was a very proud Norwegian and Long Islander who loved the beach. She made the world a better place just by being in it.

Sonni is survived by her Daughter, Karen Skippon (Russell), Son, John Kerr (Christine) and Daughter, Kirsten Fass (Phillip). She also leaves behind grandchildren Russell Jr. (Jamie), John (Katie), Kristopher (Nicolette), Joseph (Samnantha) Caroline, Jack, Matthew & Sara. Sonni also was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren; Skylar, Gavin, Emerson, Reese, Cash, and Maddie. Sonni was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.

A celebration of Sonni and Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 10:00-1:00 at Hawkins & Davis Funeral Home 17 Manor Road, Smithtown, NY.
Burial will immediately follow at Union Cemetery, Middle Island, NY

Sonni’s love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
