Mrs. Carolyn Frye, 77, formerly of 116 Evergreen Ave., Brentwood, NY died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Northwell Hospital in Bayshore, NY. She was born March 31, 1944 in Shelby North Carolina to the late Zee L. Hardy and Fannie Barrow Hardy and was their only child. Carolyn went to Hope high school in Providence Rhode Island and graduated from Johnson and Wales Business School in 1963. She was a member of the secretary staff for the City of Providence Mayor Joseph A Doorley Jr. until 1966. Carolyn married her husband James E Frye Jr. in 1965. They had two children Charlene and Michael before moving to Long Island in 1972. There she had two more children Rodney and Leesa. She eventually took employment with National Westminster Bank where she worked as a reconciliation administrator until the bank closed. After which she had a couple of part-time jobs to fill her time until her official retirement in 2009. Carolyn was a very spiritual woman. She spent her retirement days reading scripture and enjoying the comfort of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband the late James E Frye Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy 4 children Charlene Frye of Whitehall Pennsylvania; Michael Frye of Bronx, New York; Rodney Frye of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania ; Leesa Frye of Brentwood, New York and two grandchildren Louis Michael and Leilani Rose. Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

    Your mother will be missed. She and my mother, Bettye Scott Wray just spoke during Christmas and was surprised at her passing. Her memories will always be in our hearts.

  3. I’m so saddened to hear about Carolyn’s passing even though it has been a long time since seeing her. I remember her home always being a fun and warm place to be whenever I visited with my friend Charlene. My sincerest condolences to you Charlene, Michael, Rodney Leesa and family.
