Solon "Steve" Tsangaras

Solon Tsangaras (aka “Li’l Stevie”), beloved actor, musician, author, and friend, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Fairmont, West Virginia, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 65 years old.

Born on March 15, 1960, in Queens, New York, to Loula Pateras and Pantelis Tsangaras. Solon discovered his love for the arts at an early age. He performed in stage productions, video shorts, and commercials, while also immersing himself in music throughout the 1970s and 1980s. A graduate in Theater Arts, English, and Communications, Solon also studied law enforcement before ultimately returning to his lifelong passions—acting and music.

As a talented musician, he became a key member of Uncle Fester, one of Long Island’s most popular bands, which entertained audiences for more than 25 years. His creativity extended to writing as well; Solon authored the novels Detour to Armageddon and Pipe Screams, co-authored several others, and penned numerous short stories and screenplays.

Solon’s acting career spanned a remarkable range of independent film and television projects. His credits include My Uncle John Is a Zombie, Belly Timber, Killer Campout, The Follower, A Promise to Astrid, Midnight, Faded Memories, Godsend, Her Name Was Christa, Desk Clerk, H.P. Lovecraft’s Witch House, Crackcoon, and most recently the mini-series The Last War.

Over the past decade, Solon also served as a valued member of the Burning Bulb Publishing family, working as a Quality Assurance Specialist and proofreader for numerous independent books and films. In addition, he was a cherished collaborator with JC Films, appearing in nearly a dozen of their faith-based productions. His distinctive look, dedication to his craft, and warm, generous spirit made him an unforgettable presence both on and off set.

Solon believed deeply in the power of independent and faith-driven storytelling. He poured his heart into every project, uplifting those around him with kindness and humor. His legacy of creativity, integrity, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, colleagues, and the many audiences who were touched by his work.
