It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Kenneth “Ken” Hass, on January 15, 2026 at the age of 62.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Hass, his children, Kristen Hass (fiancé, Martin Schnellenbach), Victoria Hass, and Kenny Hass (wife, Kayle Hass), along with extended family and friends.
Ken was born on September 17, 1963 in Bay Shore, New York, and was raised in Hauppauge, New York. His childhood there instilled in him a lifelong passion for basketball and sports, a topic he loved to discuss with anyone willing to listen. I have so many fond memories of being with Kenny in high school. He was positive, friendly and a joy to be with, not to mention that his basketball skills were exceptional. Michele, best to you and your family.
My sincerest condolences to you, Michele and your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Ken was a very nice and engaging person. It was always a pleasure to see him over the years when going to his Manhasset Deli.
Our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathies to the Hass Family.
Dear Jeff and Cathy, Thank you for sending the beautiful floral arrangement. It brought us needed comfort at a difficult time. Ken always enjoyed talking to you both and was thankful for all of the support you gave to the deli. You were not only one of his favorite customers, but good friends to him and our family. Know that everything you have done over the years meant so much to all of us. With sincere appreciation, The Hass family
I am very sorry for your loss. Kenny was such a gentleman and I enjoyed getting to know him over the years at Manhasset Deli.
Kenny will be greatly missed by many you know and also many families, like mine who enjoyed his wonderful presence in Manhasset.
Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for taking the time to write your kind words and for all of the support you brought to him and the deli over the years. It means so much to us all. With sincere gratitude. The Hass Family
Kenny was on senior on our Hauppauge Varsity Basketball team the year I become varsity coach. He was a wonderful player, teammate and person. He was an exceptional athlete, with outstanding basketball skills and toughness on the court. He led by example and was a major factor in helping that team make the playoffs and win their first playoff game in 20 years. But the thing I will always remember the most about Kenny was his great smile and personality. My condolences to his family and friends.
Dear Ken,
Thank you for sharing such great memories and for your condolences. It helps us through this difficult time. Being on your team was near and dear to his heart. With sincere gratitude, The Hass Family
One of my favorite parts of going to Manhasset Deli was knowing I would be welcomed with Kenny’s warmth and kindness. Stopping in before school for a perfectly heated cinnamon bun or getting (the best) sandwich on a weekend, Kenny always made the time to ask how my day was going or how the family was. Thank you for sharing him with us. I am so sorry for your loss.
Dear Brigid,
Thank you for taking the time to write your kind words and for all of the support you brought to him and the deli over the years. It means so much to us all. With sincere gratitude. The Hass Family
