Today, we gather to celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman, Anna Maria Vigliarolo. A devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and business owner. Anna left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched.

Anna’s life was a testament to her strength and resilience. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 11, 1934 to Francesco ‘Frank’ Drago and Matilda (DeGaetano-Drago) Kurmlovitch. Tragically her father passed away when she was just three and half years old, but she was blessed with a wonderful stepfather Peter ‘Petey’ Kurmlovitch, who raised her as his own. Anna often told stories of working as a governess for a Jewish family as a young girl, and even having to keep a kosher kitchen for them. She also enjoyed helping out at her father’s movie theater, The Lindy. As a young woman she even worked in the Empire State Building in New York City.

She married Louis Vigliarolo in 1954 and they were married for nearly 60 years. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership built on love, trust, mutual respect and understanding. Together they started a business that Anna successfully ran for 38 years, helping thousands of people get jobs.

Despite being a successful business owner, her favorite jobs were mother and grandmother, and her greatest achievements in life were her relationships. Anna’s family was her rock, and she was the glue that held them together.

Mother to three wonderful Daughters, whom she leaves behind; Lisa Boccio (Michael), Gina Vigliarolo (Joe Rosolino, Danielle and Andrew Harman), Tracy Bower (former spouse Tony). Anna was also a doting grandmother to two grandchildren that she loved beyond measure; Paisley Bower (Shaun) and Anthony Bower (Krista). She was also affectionately known as Great Granny Annie to Joe and Gina’s grandchildren Hazel and Maeve. Along with being Great Grandma to Paisley and Shaun’s daughter Madilyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louie, her older sister Florence, whom she cherished, and her older brother James who passed away years earlier.  We take comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with her parents, siblings and husband.

Anna was also an incredible friend. If you met her, you loved her. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and heard. She made it a point to get to know you and she remembered everything. Being her friend was a gift.

Anna’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and generosity.  She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched. As we say our goodbyes, we take comfort in the memories of her laughter, her smile, and her unwavering love.

Everything has its season, everything has its time…

Rivers belong where they can ramble, eagles belong where they can fly. I gotta be where my spirit can run free, gotta find my corner of the sky.

Rest in peace, Anna. You will be forever in our hearts.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dear Aunt Anna,
The times we had together will never be forgotten.
Your laugh was unique and reached all hearts
You had a long interesting life
We your nieces and nephews will always remember you

  2. Dear friends and family.
Thank you for stopping by to celebrate my beautiful mothers life together.
My mother Ann, Anna aka da mother, she filled a room with personality, joy and very loud laughter. Successful, Creative in everything she attempted, she had a way of knowing and always knew what was best, I always listened. I wanted for nothing ever. She gave me everything I could ever need or want. If i asked for something my mom made sure i had it.> there was one time when I was nine I wanted a lava lamp and for my birthday of course i was the first to get one from Spencer’s. I also got a wave maker and that fell out of the box when my mom came home , did I mention she just got wall to wall brand new carpet. The broken wave maker ruined the carpet. So for ever we were reminded about the wave machine. My mother never got mad about the situation her carpet was forever ruined. She is the kindest person I know. My mom always wanted us to eat and for no one to be left out she’d say get whatvever you want and as much as you want. She took care of everything all the time. Sang to me, danced with me and rearranged the Christmas reindeer in the front yards of our community. Haha
She stood up for me and ran to my rescue if ever the time was in need. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for her and her for me. She believed in me she made me feel special and important. She knew me better than anyone and I found lifelong comfort in this. Took me to my 1st concert with my sisters and waited outside in the cold, so we could enjoy.
She is and always will be my most favorite person in the whole world not just because she is my mother … but for everything that that entails from teaching me everything I know, taking care of me when I was sick without being annoyed and I was sick all the time. She allow and provided for me to be able to do everything I ever asked of her. Travel, ski trips…m555⁵r e and numerous concerts .She trusted me to always be honest and intern she gave me the world. She loved my cooking (tacos) and art work, my fashion style and my children her grands unconditionally. My mom encouraged me to do the things I was scared to try. My mother’s love made me a better person. I took her to NY for the day, to this day it is one of my best memories. She didn’t want to go but when we did she never wanted to leave. She told me it was a great day for her too.
She was the cool mom and allowed me to always have several friends over at one time… all the time. My best friend patty said my mom is Silly and has a sense of humor. “Smart people have humor “..When I wanted to travel the world even though she would miss me she let me go. No one knows me better than my mommy.
I had to eventually move to a warmer climate and she hated Florida but she came to.visit. she loved my two children like her own and that opened up a whole other perspective to our relationship. I will and have missed her each and every day 💓.There will be no other to replace her essence her beautiful singing voice, her laugh, her senses of humor and sense of knowing. She could cook too, was not fond of Christmas but loved news years celebrations.
We are forever connected ❤️ and I will long for the day i see, feel smell her again .until then I must bear the pain and longing. The word cherish comes to me when I think of her my family and friends. I admit I feel lost and very lonely without knowing she is there to message call or just talk to. She always gave me the best advice. I spent my life wanting for nothing and now I’ll spend the rest of it wanting for her my mommy. I love you with every breath I take until the end of time. There are so many memories and times to Cherish 😍 with my beautiful sisters our family and treasured friends.
Thank you to my family for taking outstanding care of our precious Mommy. Love always Tracy baby Darlyn
